Salt and Peace

Salt and Peace

Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.”

– Matthew 5:9

The definition of salt is wisdom and grace exhibited in our speech.

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”

– Matthew 5:13

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

– Proverbs 18:21

If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.”

– Matthew 10:13

Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.”

– Mark 9:50

If we mix the things that do not mix with the words of God, we will lose our saltiness.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

– James 1:5

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

– James 4:6

Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”

– James 3:12-18

Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.”

– Romans 14:13-19

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”

– Colossians 4:5-6

Salt – wisdom and grace exhibited.

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”
